The West River Preserve is set in scenic southeastern Idaho about 10 miles north of Idaho Falls. Part agricultural land and part river bottom, the Preserve sits along the mighty Snake River.
The Preserve was purpose built to accommodate hunters from every age group and ability. It is easily walkable with 50’ rows of alfalfa stubble separated by 30’ rows of multiple types of grain, the perfect habitat for our birds.
Your adventure will begin here with choice of pheasant to choose from, along with expert advice from our very own Erik Bird, the General Manager of the West River Preserve. Erik has been running the operation since he and his partners conceived the idea of building an easily accessible, world class hunting preserve for the local residents and visitors to Eastern Idaho.
Erik will be your contact for the game selection, as well as the operations and details of the outing. Scheduling for your group is quick and thorough, you simply pick the date and the time from available slots then choose the number of birds you wish to hunt. Erik and his team plant the birds, mark them if you wish, and will either stay to assist your party or let you hunt for your allotted time.
Dogs are encouraged, but if you do not have your dog yet or are new to the sport and are just looking to have a some excellent family fun, Erik does have dogs available.
